The mission of the Nevada Military Support Alliance (NMSA) Major General Ronald J. Bath Veterans and Families Center is to assist student veterans in successfully transitioning from military service to the academic environment.
Located in RDMT 241, we are here to help guide all veterans, eligible dependents and spouses, Nevada National Guard members, and active duty personnel in their educational goals. Entirely operated by veterans, the Veterans and Families Center staff is dedicated to using their own personal experiences to support other veterans and their families.
To date, the Nevada Military Support Alliance has contributed $100,000.00 to the Truckee Meadows Community College Veterans Resource Center (VRC) which is dedicated solely to our local military population. The NMSA has committed to pay $300,000 over six years to see that the services that support academic and vocational success of Veteran students can continually be met.
On July 11, 2016, the VRC relocated to a new location which has allowed them to add a computer lab, study/conference room, veterans lounge and an office for offsite personnel. In addition, the TMCC Student Veteran Mentor Program and the Veteran Leadership Academy has successfully registered over 60 students for both programs. The two key objectives students will continue to focus on are professional development and community service both of which will aid in transition from military to the academic environment and give students the opportunity to assist other veterans in need.
The NMSA looks forward to the continuation of our partnership with the TMCC Veterans Resource Center over the next 4 years.
